How this site makes money, and what that changes
Short version: some links here earn me a commission, a small number of items were sent to me for free, and both of those facts are marked on the item itself rather than buried on this page.
Affiliate links
Most gear here links to Shopee or TikTok Shop, and most of those links are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the seller pays me a small percentage. You pay the normal price — there is no version of the link that costs you more.
Every one of those links carries a disclosure line directly beneath the button, on the item’s own page. I would rather repeat myself twenty times than have you find out here.
Review units and gifts
If a brand sends me something, the item carries a SENT FOR REVIEW badge for as long as it is on this site. Same for anything given to me personally: GIFTED. The badge never comes off, and it appears on the card in the grid, not only on the detail page.
No brand has ever seen a page before it went up, and nobody has editorial approval. If something was sent to me and it was not good, it does not get listed at all — a review unit buys a fair test, not a place on this list.
Prices and referral links
Prices are shown as bands, never exact figures, because Malaysian marketplace pricing moves weekly and a stale number is worse than no number.
Software links are sometimes referral links, which earn me account credit rather than cash. Those are marked the same way, on the item itself.
What I am not
I am not a reviewer, a videographer, or a specialist in any of this. I am someone who buys a lot of things and uses them for a long time.
Treat everything here as one person’s experience with one setup in one room in Sungai Petani. If something here is wrong, tell me — hi@hzrl.my.
